I’m turned away for a myriad of straight roles and then the smattering of gay ones are given to straight people. There’s institutional and systemic homophobia at every level of the industry and our society. (3/10)

Also - you watch LGBTQ performances by LGBTQ people and they are always 100% better. But cis/straight people won’t see that because you don’t understand the set of codes and behaviours that make up our identity because you don’t live our experience. (5/10)

Just like the BLM movement challenges us all to acknowledge that we’re all racist unless we’re actively fighting it (because we grew up in a racist society), LGBTQ people are now challenging us all to do the same... (8/10)
we’re inherently homophobic and transphobic because the society we grew up in was. Put your pride aside and reflect on what you can do to become anti homo/bi/trans-phobic. (9/10)
I hope for a world where gay men can play straight and vis versa... but we’re not in that world yet. The work needs to be done on a personal, social, cultural and political level. So let’s get to work. (10/10)
