Yay!! So happy to get a call 'from Amazon' saying I've won a lottery/prize online scratch card, thanks to a recent purchase. Caller has full details of my purchase, so must be genuine. Ignoring for now the Truecaller description of the 'Amazon' caller... waiting for SMS... 1/n
Caller said he was sending me an SMS with the Amazon website address. I told him, hey, no worries I have the Amazon web address. He said no sir, Amazon has a website only for their lotteries, pls stand by sir. Yessss! Got it... http://amazononlinedraw.in  2/
Went to said Amazon lottery site. Entered a random mobile number, rejected. Entered my correct mobile number, and got my scratch card, yay! Rubbed the scratch-card and gosh, can't believe it, stacks and bundles of new notes (the ones with the nano-chips?). 7.5 lakh!! wow. 3/
To reassure me, they again gave all my exact and correct details. Name, address, phone, and exact details of my recent Amazon purchase for Rs 1,049. And reconfirmed, the Rs 7.5 lakh lottery prize. A-mazing!! 4/
OK, now for the business model here. To get the Rs 7.5 lakh, I need to send Rs 5,500 "service tax". Sender assures me that if I "loose" anything I can sue the Company. But .. I can't wait!! - how and where do I send this money asap? 5/
OK! We have a bank account number for "Amazon (Mr Raj)" at SBI Kolkata. Now I can send my money to them. Helpfully, they have a WhatsApp helpline as well... and they accept all modes of payment... they even have their address, in New Town, Kolkata. Irresistible. 6/
So the caller has my name, mobile, address, and purchase details from @amazonIN (or a seller on the platform?).

And @KolkataPolice and @TheOfficialSBI - please note the SBI Kolkata bank details, phone numbers, and Kolkata contact address (may be fake). Can you act on these?
Also @amazonIN may want to look at http://amazononlinedraw.in  - and this specific seller who sold me that product (or else figure out where else the data leak could be from).
