Imagine my fucking face when I found out that I didn't even realize that Brad Venable was the new voice of the Honest Game Trailers until he passed away.
What a legend he was.
Strap in, cause I've got a little history lesson for you all...

Okay, so y'know Honest Trailers right?
Those movie trailers voiced by the Epic Voice Guy (Jon Bailey) that "told you the truth"?
There was actually a spinoff called Honest Game Trailers, written by the same guys and voiced by the same person, on Smosh Games. (remember that lol)

Smosh Games had Jon Bailey voice them as well for the longest time, up until 2018, where they split from Smosh Games.
Jon Bailey's last performance for the Smosh Games era was for Diablo 3.

The show went on hiatus until 2019, wherein the show rights were acquired by FANDOM (best known for their acquistion of Wikia and all their websites).
They revived the series in June! But... Jon Bailey wasn't the one voicing them anymore.

Naturally, the fans really didn't take kindly to the change.
For a while, Fandom's HGT cycled through voice actors for each new trailer in an attempt to "give greater variety to the trailers".
But... the dislikes kept rolling in.
This guy summarizes the reaction quite well:

It wasn't until the HGT for Wolvenstein: Youngblood wherein they stopped doing it and finally settled on a singular new voice.
This voice was remarkably similar to Jon Bailey's performance. It basically tried to capture as much of his essence as possible.

And so, this became the new voice of Honest Game Trailers for a good year.
Naturally, people got used to it. He even dubbed himself the "Honest Voice", as opposed to Bailey's "Epic Voice".
I personally described it as "Epic Voice Guy but not really"

The new voice didn't try to copy Bailey's voice verbatim.
He evoked the same spirit, but he didn't really do fast-talking--instead, he would often do different, higher pitched voices entirely for comedic effect!

The Honest Voice's last performance was for the HGT for Yakuza: Like A Dragon, which was just a week ago.
His first actual performance was in July 3, 2019 for the Devil May Cry V trailer.
So, he had been taking Bailey's place for a year and a half, with 74 episodes under his belt.

It wasn't until just yesterday, when the man behind the Honest Voice died. And his name was finally revealed.
The Honest Voice was none other than BRAD VENABLE.

Brad Venable was perhaps best known for being several side characters in the FF7 remake, as well Griffon and Nightmare in Devil May Cry 5 (which funnily enough, was the first HGS he did!)
But all this time, Brad Venable went as an unsung hero with Honest Game Trailers.
He endured the backlash that came with changing voice actors, lived to tell the tale, and did a stand up job doing so.
What a fucking legend. There are not NEARLY enough Fs in the world for him.
