I would like to take a moment to explain why this idea is 180 degrees in the wrong direction.

So even w/o anon accounts, they will continue spreading disinfo, leaving us with a non-solution.
Anon accounts can be bad, good, or anything in between. Think of all the alt-gov accounts, the Herd, etc. None would be possible under his plan, and free speech online would suffer.

Some anon accounts are even better sources of information than their non-anon counterparts. @DevinCow and I use our accounts way more responsibly than @DevinNunes uses his official accounts because we care about the truth more than he does.
As evidence of the effectiveness of our anon accounts, Devin Nunes sued us for $250 million. So if anyone would agree with your take @Schneider_CM, it would be @DevinNunes.

When I started this acct (or the previously suspended acct), the MSM was normalizing Trump. Devin Nunes was chair of the HPSCI, and lying with impunity, amplified by the media. There were obvious truths that those in the media lacked the presence to say.

Now the media is coming around, all the big brains are starting to ask, "what are we going to do about all of these anonymous accounts?"

Oh and another thing, this is a very America-centric solution. Twitter is used all around the world. Is it going to verify billing addresses for cell phones in 193 countries? Many use post-paid phones and don't have billing addresses. Should Twitter be unavailable to the poor?
That should be *pre-paid cell phones.
