10 things that DON'T help discussions on race and ethnicity:

1. Pretending it wasn't a problem until 2012 when the media supposedly told us to become angry over it.
2. Pretending that racism against black folks ended with the Civil Rights Bill (hint: Cointelpro continued thru
the early 70's, redlining continues to the present)
3. Speaking ahistorically and ignorantly about a culture you didn't grow up in and a ethnic group you didn't grow up with
4. Wrongly labelling everyone as 'Woke/CRT/Marxist/Intersectionalist/White Supremacist/Racist' because
they disagree with you

5. Assuming every white person is automatically racist (they aren't)
6. Assuming racism needs power in order to be racism (it doesn't)
7. Assuming all grievances are false/race baiting
8. Cherry-picking and dishonestly presenting stats (lying with numbers)
9. Hypocrisy (claiming every black person isn't monolithic, then making monolithic statements about those who disagree with you)
10. Only listening to/reading people you agree with and getting your info from them vs reading/listening and engaging for yourself (especially if
they tell you "no, you don't understand what I believe on this issue"....at that point, don't continue down the same path).

Your meme, insult and cancel culture aren't helping (looking at both 'sides'). They *are* helping to dehumanize (which makes it easier to mock).
I'll give you a list of 10 things that DO help....tomorrow. Time to go to sleep.
