The party that always stood for tradition and culture is @BJP4India. Jallikattu is a pride of TN people & was called as a barbaric sport by senior @INCIndia leaders. Let us look at what transpired between 2011 and now.

The Union environment and forests ministry under Mr. Jairam Ramesh on July 11, 2011, had banned the use of bulls as performing animals. As a result of this, the ban extended to effectively putting a ban on jallikattu in Tamil Nadu.

Subsequently, the Supreme Court, on May 7, 2014 (when UPA II was in power), completely banned jallikattu. It justified the Union environment and forests ministry’s ruling. @INCTamilNadu in its 2016 TN Assembly election manifesto, called for banning this sport.

After @narendramodi ji govt came to power in May 2014, the environment, forests & climate change ministry,in January 2016, amended its 2011 notification, allowing jallikattu and bullock cart races with specific conditions. Hon. S C in July 2016 overturned the Govt’s decision.

Interestingly, Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi was one of the counsels of a petition filed by Animal Welfare Board and PETA against jallikattu in the Supreme Court & against the NDA govt’s stand.

In 2017 @arivalayam then staged an artificial drama in Marina by hoodwinking the youths by making some ‘social activists’ to infiltrate the student crowd. @AIADMKOfficial govt brought an ordinance in 2017 legalizing the sport & later @narendramodi ji govt once again supported it!

Former CM M Karunanidhi said , "I thank the Central government for giving permission for the sport, Union Minister @PonnaarrBJP for his continuous efforts and all others who strove for it." This is by the same party that is now playing a staged drama against all actions of govt.

Now, @RahulGandhi visiting TN tomo to witness Jallikattu is one more addition to his list of clueless politics he is practicing. Let him first apologize for all the drama & trouble his party had created for jallikattu & later enter the sacred turf where our majestic bulls roam.

Politics is about upholding noble principles & should benefit the greater common good. @BJP4India will continue to do what is right & just for the people of TN despite the continuous false propaganda’s unleashed by staged stooges.
