omegaverse + assassin au where omega!atsumu (days shortly before his heat) is tasked to assassinate the leader of an underground mob but everything goes fubar when his inhibitors didn't work and he enters his heat moments before he kills alpha!sakusa.
atsumu triggers a distress call through his device linked to hq, demanding for backup asap because he fucked up. he really did. he shouldn't have taken this mission lightly, not when he himself knows just how intense his heats are compared to a normal omega
Sakusa has been expecting an attack on him tonight. He's been on guard since the moment he stepped into the party earlier, telling komori to keep an eye on anything even remotely suspicious.

He didn't expect the good guys to send over an omega in heat to kill him off.
What are they playing?

Atsumu is on the floor, struggling to finish his task when Sakusa kneels down before him and brushes his thumb against his scent glands.

"What would happen if I bite your neck right now?"
Atsumu has gone through several stressful situations before and managed to come out successfully in the end. Right now though, his inner omega is fighting to come out and take over his senses. Sakusa, his target, looks at him, a sinister smirk playing on his lips.
Gloved fingers taps on his scent glands and Atsumu keens, horror growing within him at his body's reaction. Sakusa brings his hands behind Atsumu's ears and pulls away his earpiece.

In HQ, Osamus is yelling at Suna to hurry the fuck up and rescue his twin.
"Miya." Sakusa addresses Osamu, his voice ringing from the other side. "You have ten minutes before I bite your brother. Don't worry, I'm not that cruel to give a mark to an unmated omega. A claim mark though... don't make me wait too long to consider it."
Suna is perched on top of the building, watching their target from afar, when he receives the distress call. Atsumu rarely uses it, confident in his capabilities to bring down their targets.

This is the first time his partner called for help.
They've memorized the building's layout during mission briefing. So it's no surprise that Suna is already running towards their target's position before Osamu even called him about Atsumu.

"Rin."
"I'm on it, Samu."
To Atsumu, the mission goes first. He's faced death several times now and still managed to live. His inner omega is rattling against its cage, crying for the dominant alpha before him, begging to be marked and taken.
He doesn't.

Instead, he pulls out the knife hidden in his boots and lunges forward, tackling Sakusa on the ground.

The mission comes first, and come hell or high water, he will finish it whether or not he is in heat.
"Hnngh!" Sakusa, taken by surprise at the sudden attack, falls on his back and is now facing the pointed end of a sharpened butterfly knife.

"Hah...hah..." Atsumu breathes heavily. Screw the slick already staining his pants and his vision blurring.
"I'm trained for situations like this." He chokes out. Sakusa secretes his alpha pheromones in retaliation. The musky scent of pine and smoke mixes with the scent of peaches and lemon in the air, overwhelming both alpha and omega.

Sakusa could smell the sweetness before him.
cw// blood

Taunting him. Beckoning his alpha to come out of his cage and play.

Atsumu is flushed red above him. What to do? What to do. He lowers the knife and presses it against Sakusa's neck, drawing a thin line of blood that flows down and stains his collar.
His body is failing him. The more Sakusa's pheromones fill the air, the more Atsumu's body begins to surrender. The knife wavers in his hold, presenting Sakusa the perfect opportunity to strike back.
Alphas are biologically stronger, Sakusa tells himself as he brings his knee up and kicks Atsumu's legs, breaking his already shaky balance, and rolls them over.

He comes up on top, trapping the omega in his arms and brings hands up over his head.

"Not strong now are, spy?"
