Had some time to put this together. Proposal for our very own SOPMOD-style upgrade package for existing Para SF M4A1s. Will explain the rationale that went into some of the choices for parts shortly, will expand this post into a thread at that point.
In order to better facilitate the finances, a staggered upgrade program could be better. Since we already possess peripheral kit such as vertical grips, flashlights etc. that interface with Picatinny rails, the first Phase should entail buying the DD URG.
While this URG should lay a sound foundation for future upgrades while bringing in a brand new high-quality barrel & BCG, the Picatinny RIS II interface on this URG should also ensure that all existing peripheral kit will remain useful in the short/mid-term.
Later on, in the 2nd Phase, the MFR M-LOK handguard can come in alongside new M-LOK peripherals, and simply swap out the Picatinny handguard on the URG with the M-LOK one. This should also allow for the the shooter to go with P-rail or M-LOK as per his choice.
