when they have to wait 5 minutes. They live under the assumption that the customer is always right, but in practice, it comes down to privileged white customers. These are the people who scream f-bombs at the guy who gets paid less than min. wage at the restaurant, these are 2/
the congressmen who yell at the security guard because of the metal detector installed at the door to protect them against the constituents they riled up. And the person working those underpaid jobs is more likely to be a person of color. This perceived persecution 3/
this supposed affront to “freedom” is actually equality. But a loss of equality to someone accustomed to always being the exceptional one is unbearable. That’s why refusing to wear mask is a white supremacist act. /end
Addendum: I meant to say “a loss of exceptionalism”. Or otherwise stated, a move toward equality is what is perceived as a loss of freedom (But I think you get the point l)
