I really really really hate anti sex discourse. This thread will briefly discuss each of the types of sex discourse I have seen so I don’t have to argue about it anymore.
1. Fill your movie with sex if you want to. If you don’t, dont. The problem right now is that big movies are sexless not because the creator wants that but because the studio execs want the film to be PG13.
2. Kinks are actually really based if they’re consensual. I know that some of the kinks you see can be uncomfortable and ageplay and slaveplay particularly I understand being very difficult to stomach. But the fact of the matter is these are consenting adults.
3. Just as it is important to put up content warnings for lewd or sensitive material it is important to respect that folks who are more sexually open are entitled to their own space too. You have a right to not be made uncomfortable but we shouldn’t have to repress ourselves
4. Age gaps in movies and TV are going to happen. Just as they happen in real life. I’m sorry, but it simply isn’t a problem for a 34 year old to date a 26 year old. Personally I wouldn’t do that, but the 26 year old is an adult. Stop telling other people they are victims
5. I know as well as the rest of you that this discourse disproportionately is targeted at queer romance/queer sex. That has not escaped my notice. Please be mindful of that if you choose to criticize one of the aforementioned topics of discourse.
