If you're still a little upset about the coup- and you're worried another attack is going to happen?

1. That's called hypervigilance. It's a symptom of trauma.
2. Fear is a friend- fear is a response designed to protect us.
3. it's good to be aware and ready to act-
but
You have to be aware of turning this fear off- from time to time. Less you get "stuck" in it.
I'm not saying forget about it- or just shrug it off.
Just- be aware these cycles happen. And take care of yourself accordingly. Don't get stuck.
If you were hurt at some point- you're going to be wary so you don't get hurt again. This is good. It's survival.

But - make an effor to recognize when that threat has passed. Use your own judgement. And be thankful your body knew enough to protect you.
PERSONALLY as a hyper fearful person... i'm not letting my guard down yet. I also have a long history of trauma so I may not be the best judge of that ;P So... make your own choices. Just... be aware of it is all! It's a thing.
