I don't think I can even bring myself to address this food poverty discussion. What else is there to say? How much energy is wasted trying to debate with people who think child poverty is as simple as just buying eggs every day? I can't do this anymore.

The fact is this: as many people in Britain are living in poverty as there are people who don't believe poverty even exists. You don't get kids fed by arguing with those people. You get things done by putting pressure on the people in charge.

We have a govt that has just nationalised most of the economy, handed over billions of non means-tested grants to middle class households, and at the same refuses to just give these parents THIRTY QUID CASH in case a few mums and dads buy fags.

You can't actually argue with an ideology which is that extreme. That mental. The same politicians who enjoy subsidised everything (on top of their ever rising salaries) believe withholding cash from poor families with hungry kids is good for them.

That's what people need to understand. This particular strain of conservatism perpetrates great harm whilst believing itself rational and even benevolent. That is how mad these times are. People so far from reality that their good intentions actually register as pure evil.

I got a shit load of self employment grants. Not once have I been asked to show what I use the money for. People like me, for some reason, are being trusted with thousands of pounds of grants, no questions asked, while really poor people are harassed over pennies

Made to suffer the indignity of not even being trusted with 30 quid and instead being handed fucking fish in bags and half carrots? Meanwhile a private firm is skimming a profit out of this??? Free-market extremists take a fucking bow!

And anybody daft enough to think a professional football player speaking up on social media is enough to do what actually needs to be done here ought to get a quiet grip of themselves.

They are going through with cuts to benefits. They refuse to house rough-sleepers. They are not competent enough to be genuine bastards. They are not formidable like Thatcher was. They are a bunch of political and intellectual lightweights. Their time is fucking coming.

The govt is full of people who think you cant be poor if you have a phone but have also designed a welfare system that you can only access online. I mean......HAHAHAHAHAHAH

I mean, this is a belief system that believes the family unit is sacred. That family unity is the bulwark of social cohesion. Then in the same breath, they cling to an economic model that produces and reproduces family breakdown as a toxic externality. Ass hats man.
