Charles Jeffrey Loverboy, Spring '21, shot by Tim Walker and inspired by the Scottish ritual surrounding Burryman, a figure that is believed to ward off evil spirits.
On ceremony day, a local man from South Queensferry, Edinburgh is dressed in a costume that is basically covered fully in burrs. By that, his movement is heavily restricted but nevertheless, he spends the day walking awkwardly through town for seven miles straight.
On his several stops at public houses, he is greeted with shots of whiskey which he cannot drink by himself due to the sticky, burr-covered balaclava that is covering his face. The drinks are therefore offered with a straw and assistance.
