Irish people love to tear down a person
with any sort of ‘big’ name or success.

How dare an Irish player turn down
the opportunity of UK football,
instead going to sunny Cyprus to
a team that has competed in the
UEFA CL and EL.

Irish football is strange (and wonderful) https://twitter.com/mcdonnelldan/status/1349072839773745154
Danny Grant has understandably
not been involved with Huddersfield.
He’s not match fit, because of the
difference in winter/summer Leagues.

You don’t see random Irish football fans lambasting his move to the UK.

It’s good to see Irish players
taking some different options imo.
Graham Carey is at CSKA Sofia &
has played in the EL.

Cillian Sheridan has moved around
Europe competing at a high level.

They both played in the UK across
different levels.

Byrne isn’t the first & hopefully won’t
be the last Irish player to move to a
big club in Europe.
