1.Through Our Lens. Started in April 2020. Working with teenagers from Bradford to enable them to tell their story at a time when they did not appear in the visual narrative, record. The project continues, and grows . It brings me joy, it brings the individuals visibility...
2. It started off with an idea I had and response funding from @bradfordmdc initiated by @nic_greenan . The work grew and grew, and got international attention. Recent photos above by Wigden, Hamza, Jennifer and Morgan. Documents, landscapes and conceptual ideas...
3 a reflection of their reality and story. As the project developed we got amazing support from @ImpGalleryPhoto and I extended the group and started to work with refugees and esol learners from @bradfordmdc as well as other young people across the district..
4. The project got its first outing on the streets across the district. On Billboards, on posters, on sides of buildings. It was a wonderful thing. The young people’s Instagram page is followed by many very well respected artists, curators, experts, supporters..
5. Now I have funding from @ace_national to develop the project, to let it breathe and to extend its original ambition. Every day wonderful things come from those young people, who are living in surreal and challenging times. Keep on following them and supporting them on..
