Character analysis for Mahito, the special grade curse and the embodiment of hatred towards humanity, a thread:
Mahito is a special grade curse whose goal is complete eradication of humanity and replacing them. Mahito is a sadistic Cursed Spirit, insanely immature and loves to toy with human life
Mahito was born from the hatred humans have for one another. Because he was recently born, hes very childish but still, intelligent. During every fight he learns more about himself and the world. Nanami mentioned how important it is to get rid of Mahito fast, because of potential
Mahito is the ide character to antagonize and is a huge factor in Yuji’s growth. Yuji and Mahito don’t see eye to eye, they disagree heavily regarding morality. Mahito is also one of the reasons Yuji finally understood what curses actually are, evil. that’s their nature
Mahito and Yuji’s first conflict stems from the mutual relationship they had both established with Junpei. While Yuji tried to appeal to Junpei’s genuine side and did form a connection, Mahito had already tainted him.
to follow up, Mahito explains to Junpei how gullible is and that it’s his own fault for trusting a curse, just for being nice to him. Junpei was so easy to manipulate and it took Mahito no effort and he let it be known before killing him. This leads to Yuji vs Mahito
Not to forget, Mahito’s insane growth and development is something worth writing about: looking at the fight versus Nanami and Yuji, Mahito literally feels he’s about to die and in that instance he awakens his Domain Expansion
This was Mahito’s first time growing through combat (on panel/screen) He embodies the definition of human potential..
In my opinion, the most interesting about Mahito is his cursed technique: Idle Transfiguration. Mahito’s cursed technique (CT) makes it able for him to touch the soul of anything and shape it to his imagination. Mahito believes that the soul shapes the body
Mahito is in tune with his desires, this guy deadass wants to abandon the plan and kill Itadori Yuji because he believes this is his mortal enemy. Mahito has a desire to grow as a curse as well, he wants to know what happens after he kills his mortal enemy
Mahito lives for discovering himself, which inherently causes a journey of self purpose and growth for Yuji. Conversations between these two are interesting because of the disagreeing and their perspective on life. Mahito hates that that Yuji puts weight on a human life
Heart, weight, both of those are words that are essentially trying to give human lives “worth”. is human life “worth something?” Are they more worthy than the lives of animals, plants, curses, etc. The way Mahito sees it everything has a soul, even tree’s etc.
there’s nothing too different in the souls of humans, from the souls of for example: ants. The only difference he sees is that humans have a capacity for reason, that’s it.
The more that Mahito chases after him the more Yuji has to accept the cruelty of Curses and understand that there isn’t always a moral reasoning, but just a product of the natural order of balance
Like I said. Mahito was absolutely necessary and the ultimate character for Yuji to realize in what world he got mixed in. Jogo said; “ death is a mirror for humans and Mahito is that mirror. “ He represents our hatred for one another. He’s everything we’re told not to be.
With that being said, the conversations between Yuji and Mahito truly made me love Mahito. Not just his character, but his cursed technique especially. Since he can change the shape of the soul, it could also function as the best healing CT
Anyways that’s it, drop a like and retweet if you want to. also, read Jujutsu Kaisen. Don’t hate just because of fans who only dick ride Gojo
