I read in @Leth_Herald that Lethbridge councillor @RobMiyashiro1 will not be running in this fall's civic election. I know a few of the councillors personally. Rob is one. He was a great councillor, in my opinion. He will certainly be a loss. But he has served two terms.
Mayor Spearman is also stepping down. I don't know how many others will be doing the same. I fear those who may run & be elected. There are lots of people with a chip on their shoulders, lots who have only 1 interest, lots of idiots, in general lots who would be poor candidates.
Hopefully the election campaign will allow the electors to separate the wheat from the chaff. Having said that, some chaff got elected to council. Some chaff even got elected to the presidency of the USA. God, help us all. Thanks for serving Rob and Chris.
