•The Just City, Jo Walton
to get it down to 10, i left out ones that are super super famous/commonly known, so just go read Dune and Foundation and Ender's Game if you haven't
I personally prefer sci fi with hard/scientific elements but compelling characters, so that's the common thread here.
i would reread any of these 10 books today if i had the time
