Happy to learn that the crypto community in Japan 🇯🇵 is interested in the @IdenaNetwork and Proof of Personhood! I got asked to suggest a few topics for discussion, so here we go:
(thread🧵)
Starting with the hot topic of the moment 🔥. Privately owned social media platforms fulfill core democratic functions, but are not democratically accountable. Could Idena help model a different path here?
The same discussion applies to blockchain networks. Ethereum and Bitcoin have resource-based governance mechanisms, basically the equivalent of providing suffrage solely to those who own land. Can personhood-based protocols bring blockchain governance to the 21st century?
What are new types of political or economic entities that personhood networks could enable? Can we think of digital polities, transnational political parties, supranational AI / data cooperatives? How could these new models help humanity address globalized challenges?
Bitcoin broke the monopoly on currency production away from the state, and personhood networks like Idena are breaking the monopoly on currency production away from technocrats. What does that mean for the way we understand currencies and the source of their value?
How can personhood networks help humans reclaim their inherent value in a world where AI development is displacing human work with scarce forms of democratic oversight or accountability over the political, economic and social implications of new technologies?
That's it! Of course, Idena and other PoP solutions are by no means a definitive solution to any of the complex challenges I brought up above. But I hope these questions lead to meaningful discussions.

Arigato 🙏🙂
