People ask why I love Jaycee Horn so much so I'm starting a thread
Horn (6'1 205lbs) is your prototypical shutdown CB. Many teams didn't even want to test Jaycee, but when a high powered and confident offense like Auburn came around things got interesting..
Seth Williams is one of the best contested ball catchers in the nation. Bo Nix tried testing Jaycee early and often but Horn breaks on the ball with the best of them
Very next play, this time from the slot

If the ball is in the vicinity, Horn's going to get his hands on it
Single handedly kept his team in this game 😲 #BallSkillz
This play is arguably my favorite, really highlights Horn's physicality

Seth Williams is 6'3 215lbs and Jaycee straight bullied him all day
Blanketed. Horn creates another turnover with his active hands
Flips the hips and head, PBU. Textbook.
If you want to nitpick you want Jaycee to get his hands on the WR earlier to get a jam, but look at the way his feet mirrors the WRs..

Free play for the O, another PBU for Horn
Here's his "bad" play for the people who ask me to show that

Gets too handsy here and gets called for the hold. Still a nice play on the ball though
Like most QBs I would've tried going elsewhere Bo, but that's just me 🤷🏻‍♂️
Bo didn't listen.. #1 creates his 3rd turnover

No one else tested Horn like this.. and there's a reason why
Jaycee Horn vs Devonta Smith 👀
(Bottom of screen)
Same matchup, this time in press

Good coverage but Smith pulls it in. 2 great players
Cuts off Tua's throw to Ruggs in the flats, then jumps the deep route to Jeudy nearly making the diving INT
Love a corner who will stick his nose in the run game. Chopping down Najee Harris for a short gain is hard for any defender, let alone a CB
Well covered crossing route vs Jerry Jeudy but Horn makes contact early and draws the flag
Here's the bad play for ya. Horn initially had Devonta covered but gets caught peeking in the backfield (possibly looking to jump the out) and gets burned because of it

This was the last time I remember seeing Jaycee get burned (2019)
You'll see this often when watching Horn (top of screen) QB wants to go his way, but his guy is blanketed

QB has to move to his next read and gets pressured because of it
Tough task but hard to play the back shoulder much better than that vs Kyle Pitts 1on1
South Carolina trusted Horn on an island all day

Shows good turn and run ability here. would've been another PBU but gets called for the hook. Needs to work on being less handsy at the next level
Again sticking his nose in the run game

And the cherry on top at the end (the kind of jerk you want on your team)
Pass rusher Jaycee Horn with the pressure off the edge
PRESS MAN 🔒
Impressive agility for his size

3rd down stop in a tie game
Press man from the slot

WR had no chance, QB probably shouldn't have even thrown it
Not an easy route to mirror but Horn does it effortlessly (bottom screen)
Horn is one of the most lockdown Redzone CBs I've ever seen

Catching a fade vs him feels virtually impossible. I've yet to see it be done.
OCs had to get creative to beat him

Both his TDs allowed this season were on designed pick plays
This one should've been a flag tbh but there's the 2
