There is, for many, a defined line between their ideological beliefs and their policy desires (see: the swath of human events.) QAnon people who are convinced that the Pope was arrested for incest are not going to be dissuaded from thinking that by introducing postal banking.

Also, as anyone who has been alive might know, people can be economically comfortable but still driven by a ceaseless rage to do violence and cause pain for other people whom they do not like for various reasons.

Like we should do a lot of things policy-wise because they are good while recognizing that doing the good policies will not stop bad people from doing bad things.

A Neo-Nazi given Medicare for All is a Neo-Nazi with Medicare for All, not a non-Neo-Nazi, unless you conclude resorting to white nationalism or QAnon is the logical conclusion anyone might come to given their circumstances.

Many people are looking for solutions that fit their political worldview, like how I think football teams need to throw the ball more because I like watching pass-heavy football. That doesn’t mean I’m “correct.” There is no “correct” here. There are no answers.
