Normalize artists having range. Variety is a strength. I keep seeing people half-jokingly apologize for how random their work is but it's a superpower to be good at a lot of looks. Don't fall prey to the myth that your feed should be consistent if you don't want it to be. Own it.
I need to say this isn't a criticism of anyone who has a very developed and consistent style. But how did they arrive at their style? They experimented. They played with a range of things. My point is that there are as many paths as there are artists. Be yourself.
Exactly this. Well said @SamKallis https://twitter.com/samkallis/status/1349061274588442625
I'm glad this connected with so many people. There's so much needless pressure to grow online that it gets in people's heads that what's good to gain followers is good for your art. We shouldn't let strangers dictate what we make or do it to please an algorithm.
