My D&D following is mostly men, so I just want to say a quick reminder to those of you who are content creators:

Do a quick survey of the people that you have mentioned, or quoted, and check it for categories.

If we aren't aware of this, most quotes are from white men.
I'm very serious when I say to take a survey. Write it down. Track it.

This one will take some effort, but is at least as important as your view count

We all have implicit biases, and it takes intention to prevent it.

Or 9/10 times, when you quote an author, its a white dude.
Big, overall structural change is more about the hundreds of boring choices we make in a year, than anything else.

Choose to be intentional about this.

A lot of the big names in the ttrpg industry are white men who, quite frankly, don't need the extra clout or advertisement.
I am not knocking them; they are generally good humans.

But, structurally speaking, they don't need your help.

They already are the big names, they have the connections, a full portfolio, are published, and so on.

Diversity is built by lifting the unheard voices.
Check your biases. Literally. Go through your articles, go through your videos.

Who did you quote? Link? Recommend? Write those names down, and look at that list.

Literally check it for gender, race, abledness.

Make list of folks for the underrepresented categories.
Again, this requires intentionality,, because we as humans have been shaped by a culture that prefers white male voices.

Our hearts are usually for diversity, but our biases arent.

It takes a lot of work to circumvent our biases, and regular reflection.

Add it to your metrics.
