eComm philosophy dictates that no one purchases anything on the homepage of a website

You can’t convert or answer all of a user’s Q's with this page alone. As a result, it’s your job to entice them to click on something meaningful and go deeper into the site...

🧵 1/4
Let's apply the same theory to all sites...your goal should be to make your HP an incredibly appealing avenue that maps out and increases prominence to your most important content/sections of your site and allows users to navigate to these easily. Consider:

🧵 2/4
-strong internal linking to priority pages - above the fold is helpful*
-linking to popular products/category/pages & new/rec updated URLs*
-strike a bal. of text/image/video (strategy should reflect audience's needs)

*trust your expertise & leverage performance data

🧵 3/4
Remember:

1) you do not need to link ALL pages from the homepage BUT you should certainly be considering your priority pages

2) reassess your homepage and see if it's doing your site justice
