Havent done a thread in a little while so here’s one:

How you’re procrastinating w/o consciously realizing it.

And how that translates to most ppl actually enjoying lockdowns.

Gotta trick your brain to reject comfort, and train everything as we like to say
I was thinking back to a few years ago in college.

My absolute best strength was school/studies and I didn’t flourish w/ socialization nearly as much back then as I do now

This lead my brain to always pick the activity I felt most comfortable at.
I gave myself a huge course load (on scholarship so $ wasn’t a factor) and decided test my limits w classes and studying.

At first glance this seems productive and the opposite of procrastinating.

But my brain had another goal in mind.
Fill up as much time with my strength (school) as I could, even with diminishing returns, so I always had an excuse to avoid my weak point (socializing).

My brain could always tell itself it was being productive, even tho I was avoiding what I REALLY needed to work on
You see this rampant across society right now. Ppl cheering on lockdowns, with the excuse that it’s to save ppl.

Deep down they love to have an excuse for not being successful.

It’s much easier to blame lack of success on the lockdown rather than your own failures.
Someone’s asks how work, career, business is going...

“Ahhh ya know can’t do much during a pandemic, nothing I can do about it”

Gives an easy way out. Ppl don’t have to confront their own failures.
And before we feel all superior, I bet a lot of you do something similar, albeit on a much less grand scale.

I know I do too often.

I’ll focus a ton of effort in the gym, when I probably should be working on business related ventures.
It FEELS like I’m being productive, & how could anyone disagree? Isn’t working out hard good?

Of course it is.

But it’s my biggest strength & doesn’t need to be my #1 priority atm

I gravitate towards it cuz it’s what’s comfortable. & it gives me an excuse of productivity
Take a look inward and see where you need to improve most in your life.

Is that your #1 priority?

Or do you prioritize comfortable, “productive” things in front of it to really avoid it?

Really be honest w/ yourself, you know deep down what you need to work on
This is why the Train Everything mindset is so important.

You can look like the grinding improover to everyone else, but if you aren’t training EVERYTHING, especially your weaknesses, you’re leaving success on the table.

And we can’t have that.
Guys, don’t go full autist on me and completely cut out the gym, or socializing, or whatever your strengths are.

You know that’s not what this is about.

Just shift a greater % of your time to training weaknesses.
So my challenge to you guys is this:

Examine your life and schedule. Write down what you need to improve most.

Put it somewhere you see it every day.

Prioritize THAT.

It’s different for everyone. Only you can truly know.
Godspeed and God bless on your paths brothers.
