It’s time for us to be real about Kyrie Irving. And I promise you this is all observation. None of this is hate. Kyrie was drafted by the Cavs at a time where they had no leader, Bron was in Miami, and we all know about Dan Gilbert. So he forced to try to lead a team with no
Help or direction. Yes that’s really toxic and annoying and having Dan Gilbert as your owner also makes life hell. He practically pushed out the best player of his generation, TWICE. But LeBron coming back to Cleveland did two things. 1. Made them competitive which is something
Kyrie had not had as a NBA player and 2. Brough the Bron show back to Cleveland, something Bron desperately needed since that shit didn’t fly in Miami with Pat Riley. For Bron leaving Miami was also him going back to doing things his way at his speed and his pace. Now
Imagine how Kyrie, a young gifted talent, feels seeing a true NBA superstar come back into town and take over the leadership role and show that his way works. Despite some hiccups here and there and Tye Lue giving Bron Pat Riley ptsd in the finals, that team was Bron.
Kyrie had a magnificent finals where his shot ultimately decided the championship in a historic comeback to a 73-9 warriors team. You’d think that would create smooth sailing but it didn’t. A lot of people knew Kyrie hated two things 1. Not getting credit 2. Hearing about Bron.
And ultimately that lead to his exit. He wanted to lead a team and he wanted to flex his superstar privilege the way Bron did bc he didn’t have a blueprint for it before Bron came back to Cleveland. And he thought going to Boston he’d get it. Wrong. Danny Ainge and that fan base
Was never gonna let Kyrie be what other superstars are to their teams. The Celtics culture isn’t built like that. Which is why I feel his trade the Boston was done out of spite bc more than likely both Bron and Gilbert felt Kyrie wanting to go was more about him than winning.
Fast forward to today. Kyrie is in Brooklyn and is the same Kyrie. He wants to be leader without doing leadership shit. And to make matters worst it make perfect sense why he joined the Nets. 1) nets ownership is fresh. 2) there are Pat Riley or Ainges in the executive role 3) he
Can be the “leader” he wants to be based off his definition 4) the nets will NEVER get the same attention the way the Knicks do whether it be good or bad. It’s just how it is. These things allow Kyrie to do the bullshit he’s doing now. And no one in the nets org is gonna say shit
Nash ain’t saying shit. KD ain’t saying shit. Nets ownership ain’t saying shit. Why, because you have no one that has shown nor lead a culture to cut behavior like that off. End thread.
Kyrie is acting like a hoe. Essentially. End thread.
