as a man of honour, here is my almost certainly wrong prediction for the North division

1. Toronto
2. Montreal
3. Calgary
4. Edmonton
5. Vancouver
6. Winnipeg
7. Ottawa
In short:

1) Toronto has more star power than MTL & CGY, more real defencemen than EDM & WPG, and their depth is less hideous than VAN

2) I mock MTL a lot but they do dominate shot totals and if Allen/Price works they can survive their meh shooting, which is their major flaw
3) CGY I just believe should be better than last year and I think Markstrom will at least be passable enough to make them above average

4) EDM has terrific offence and some F depth now but Klefbom out hurts and Barrie doesn't help your defence. He'll get powerplay points, but...
5) VAN has two of the coolest young players in the league, which obscures that their team as a whole was not actually very good and relied on Markstrom. Could outperform tho.

6) WPG may legit have the worst defence in the NHL and were statistically awful. Good luck Hubblebutt
7) OTT will finish last and have a delightful time doing it. Early rebuild years are fun. If Murray can recapture his form and a bunch of other stuff goes right they could surprise--this division is super mediocre--but objectively I don't see how you put them anywhere but 7th.
excited for all of this to get swamped by goaltending variance lol
