For close to a year now, with only a few exceptions, I have my grocery and household supplies delivered.
Everything is wiped down once inside.

Please consider doing the same to keep you and your family safe during this pandemic.

Here's some helpful info:

1/
There are monthly fees if you don't want to pay a delivery charge and they are worth it, pays for itself of you order 2x a month.

Instacart has a $9.95 monthly fee for unlimited deliveries/pickup that can be delivered/picked up within 2 hours (when available) or days ahead.

2/
There is a $35.00 order minimum.

Instacart shoppers also deliver your order. You can chat with them through the app if you need to make changes. Most are pretty good about item selection, some need more guidance. Their customer service is good at refunding quality issues.

3/
Instacart is used by a lot of stores:
Sam's Club
Costco
Sprouts Farmers Market
Aldi
Petco
CVS
Best Buy

And a number of your local supermarkets and other store types, even Big Lots.

I'm happy with the process, delivery times, and quality about 85-90% of the time.

4/
I also use Walmart Delivery. Again, a $35.00 minimum for orders. When it comes to Walmart that just makes you shop smarter.

There isn't any interaction via chat with Walmart. A store employee does your shopping and some are great at it, some not so much. Still worth it.

5/
Both let you choose your substitutions, Instacart's shopper app doesn't always show them your substitutions. You can watch the process in the app and let them know what you need them to change.

Walmart will charge your original item price when a higher...

6/
...priced substitution is made. They are very good about that and it makes a difference. Quality issues are quickly refunded by contacting them via the app. Their customer service is, overall, surprisingly some of the best.

They also offer a pick up option.

7/
If you aren't getting deliveries and are venturing out instead, please do consider that it really is safer to have your supplies delivered.

As a cook, I miss doing my own grocery shopping. But I have to go to work in a building everyday where I am around other people.

8/
While they have to wear masks and stay socially distant in the building, I know a number of them aren following any protocols outside of work.

The less exposure I have to deal with the better. The less exposure you and your family have to deal with the better.

Just be safe.
Almost forgot, Walmart lets you order days ahead and delivery/pick up times can go quickly. Same day delivery within 2 hours (sometimes available) will cost an additional $10.00 fee. Still worth it

Tip your shoppers and the drivers well. They both deserve and earn it.
Walmart gets a 90%-95% rating from me for the process, quality, customer service, cost effectiveness, and over all satisfaction.

That says a lot. And, tbh, shopping there in person never made me that happy.
