mini thread about my opinions on Future State Superwoman so spoilers below if you haven’t read it (which btw you definitely should)
absolutely love the theme of Kara taking the mantle of Superwoman by discovering & adopting peace & letting go of her rage, past emotions & showing kindness by helping people in her own way. also, Krypto being her anchor, who inspires her even after his death.
so when she meets a young alien with immense powers & is in danger from their own people, Kara can't help seeing herself in this kid who is lost & conflicted. I love to see Kara become a mentor & teach them the value of peace by giving her experiences as example.
I think one of my favourite moments in the comic is when Lynari tells Kara how Superman's place on Earth should've been hers and it was rightfully Kara's birthright after all... but Kara's response being how Birthrights don't matter when we choose our own path.
when Kara inspires a new purpose within Lynari by giving them a task that would help the colony, they throw a fit bc nobody is grateful to them for helping. This was a very intense moment since they say some nasty things to Kara where we realize how hard life has been towards her
this moment is so important because we don't get many like these in comics where it's ever been said how hard Kara has it being Supergirl. she's had it more difficult than Clark but rarely ever been explored so I am glad we got this. kinda makes you feel empathetic towards her.
When Lynari hurts Kara by accident, they feel bad & leave. Kara thinks about Krypto, her anchor through the story & this panel absolutely wrecked me because it makes you realize how far Kara has grown as a character & doesn't let others feel abandoned like how she felt.
When Lynari is captured, Kara decides to break rule of peace to save them. & this was, the best part of the comic. Kara embraces the anger by letting the past fuel her & also reminds herself to not let go of peace she's held on to. maybe that's how Superwoman is born

compared to being Supergirl, Kara's character growth as Superwoman can be noticed as she has forged her own path away from Superman's shadow. Her defining the Superwoman title to be associated with peace but later realizing it all comes down to saving the people she cares about.
