The documents were written by longtime climate contrarians incl. Patrick Michaels, John Christy, Roy Spencer & more. They claim recognizing human-caused global warming “involves a large measure of faith” and that computer models are “too small and slow” simulate the climate. 2/

Another flyer states "Data on extreme weather trends don’t support common claims of a climate crisis," despite documented increases in deadly heat wave severity/occurrence, huge uptick in wildfires around the world & heavy precip events, etc. 3/

Many inside and outside of government were worried re: what damage Legates, Maue and others could do to US climate research since being appointed to NOAA in the Fall. If these flyers are their main work product, sources tell me those fears may have been unfounded. 4/4
