Swing down with the hands up
There is a mechanical advantage, leverage and clean path from swinging down. The marble test showed it creates speed faster than A to B
But the hands gotta stay up so the barrel can turn under and to keep that leverage
Nice simple fundamental feel here and it may translate in game for player A but player B uses this and he drops his hands and spins his shoulders. This down effort, stay on top has an across path. But in game Chipper uses his back and stretches differently.
Gears are working in his back and stretch is maintained. May be same thought as off tee to execute but his natural stretch may put him in a different position than player B who's hands may drop with spinning shoulders.
So HLP teaches the down with a rearward barrel not a chop crossing barrel. It teaches the hands to stay up by working around the rear forearm. It is based on video with swinging to duplicate not on feels alone.
