uhhh.... what? https://twitter.com/JJGotNext/status/1348976939424493568
among younger fans, he's beloved like no other.

among older fans he's disliked because of how he left and how he's the opposite of the era they grew up watching. also, as much as people want to talk about what cleveland didn't do for lebron... two-way street.
people outside of cleveland wanna talk about how we were never able to bring in big free agents but never wanna talk about him being unwilling to sign long-term deals. no wanna play for the lebron-less cavaliers, and one likes uncertainty. that rubbed a lot of fans wrong.
in his first stint, while i don't particularly remember it, he had an interesting relationship with the city. the way it was described to me "he was allergic to saying cleveland." so there's that as well.
also the way he left. never happened before like that, and never happened since (for good reason). also a star of his caliber leaving in his prime was extremely rare at the time. that rubbed a ton of people the wrong way.
so while most have forgiven and now are extremely grateful, some have not let go.
also, when all these bronsexuals say "cleveland didn't deserve" that rubs many (myself included) the wrong way.

we gave him the biggest contracts, we gave him full power even though we knew he could leave at any moment, and we spent record-setting money on payroll.
end of the day, though. 95% has forgiven and has become full on bronsexuals. i am part of that 95% i defend as much/more than anyone on this app.

but, for reasons that are completely fair, not everyone has forgiven. it's mostly the older fans, all the young fans call him goat.
