1. Shrink the words "Republic of China" and increase the font size of "Taiwan" to own the mainland (note how in both the new or old designs, Taiwan is only written in Latin letters and not in Chinese). Petty things like this are what the DPP is the best at.

2. Another example of this kind of buffoonery was when Chen made 中國石油 (Chinese Petroleum Corporation) change its Chinese name to 台灣中油 (Taiwan Central Oil) and its English name to CPC Corporation Taiwan. Note how in second right picture, what was 中國石油 became 中　　油

3. Even if you're pro-separatism, what the hell does any of this accomplish? The "Republic of China" regime is still there, and since it already serves the interests of the bourgeoisie, the DPP isn't going to do anything about it.

4. Rather the DPP will say something like "Taiwan is an independent country known as the Republic of China," ignoring the fact that, according to "ROC" law, Taiwan is a province of the "Republic of China."

5. Then it'll try to remove references to China from state-owned or partially state-owned corporations, add the word "Taiwan" in parentheses, and get butthurt about China Airlines is called China Airlines and not Taiwan Airlines.

6. What does any of this accomplish? Is it feeding the poor? Is it making other countries recognize Taiwan as an independent country or at least making them reestablish diplomatic ties with the "ROC" government? No. It's nothing but political theater.

7. You want independence, you have to declare the abolition of the "ROC" and establish a "Republic of Taiwan." Then you have to counter whatever response you get from Beijing.

8. Under international law, Beijing is entitled to take back Taiwan by force, since the UN & all major countries recognize the PRC as the successor state of the "ROC," making Taiwan legally a part of the PRC, even if the PRC doesn't administer it.

9. The DPP can change the names of institutions and companies, as well as redesign the "ROC" passport all it wants. If it's serious about separatism and playing with fire, then it should cut it out with these petty moves and 玩真的 (play for real)

10. Otherwise, it should cut it out with bullshit political theater and start serving the people. (but we all know bourgeois political parties don't do that so... lol)

11. What's sad is we have a generation of petty-bourgeois liberal youth who think this sort of bullshit is the pinnacle of democracy and freedom-fighting, ignoring how these theatrics are designed to keep the masses distracted from real issues.
