I will start by saying that I will be relying heavily on secondary sources, and the work of local historians, particularly Stuart Allen of the Runcorn Historical Society who has done extensive & really interesting work on built heritage, lost and existing, designated & non.

It will come as no surprise that this is my first entry.

The Augustinian abbey at @NortonPriory was established in 1115, and closed in the Dissolution. The Brooke family built subsequent Tudor & Georgian mansions on the site. /1
