American women can afford to refer to themselves as non-men. We can't. We're not even seen as humans here in Nigeria. We're still being sold like cattle, and sold to baby factories to breed like mares, we have no reproductive rights, period poverty is killing us
Our girls are not getting education because people believe women should just bear children and sleep with her husband. We are still getting mutilated because our culture believes our vulva in its natural state is bad.

We all know the importance of language and how vital it-
-is. I refuse to use a term that further dehumanises us and i plead with my fellow African feminists to stop gobbling down western narratives that can literally kill us.
