Patriarchy, feminism, and crime.

A thread.
So I believe this is how it started. If we go hundred or thousand years back, the only purpose of life was to eat and survive. Men and women would go out to forests in order to find something to eat.
Since women were supposed to menstruate and reproduce, it wasn’t a practical choice to go out in the woods. So staying back, making babies, and taking care of them was considered a good option while men, not really having such important biological event, were suitable to go out
and get food for the family. There were different responsibilities consisting of equality.

With civilisations and all, the purpose of life started getting changed. It shifted from survival to comfort. Now food isn’t the only thing men used to go out to get.
Here came the importance of money. Since the amount of money started defining your status in the society, responsibilities of men were considered superior than women. Now, instead of choosing, men and women were asked to take up these responsibilities.
Men are supposed to work and earn money. We can’t deny the fact that with money, comes the power. And that’s how we shifted from equality to patriarchy. Since childhood, men were taught how they’re supposed to work and arrange bread butter for the family.
How important they are for the survival of family. How people are dependent on them for anything and everything. Here came the male ego in picture. It didn’t develop overnight. It took years and generations to develop such mindset.
With improving comfort and culture, women started wishing to work as well. But they realised that it wasn’t a choice anymore. A concept, which was developed rationally, has been followed religiously and blindly with a new mindset. Here came the feminism in the picture.
It’s about equality, not superiority. People should be able to choose what they want to do, irrespective of their gender. Now, after domination for so many years and generations, men found it hard to digest. Equality? They were never taught. Can you blame them?
Because it didn’t happen overnight, no?

I won’t be stressing at how people find differentiating feminism from pseudo feminism very difficult. That’s entirely a different problem. What I want you to pay heed on, is how men are unable to handle rejection by women.
Or women being given power. Because that’s somehow challenging the mindset of hundreds of years.

So when men commit crime against women, the intention is to prove superiority. Be it an acid attack or a rape.
They do it to prove their power and show women where they belong, according to them. When they choose to destroy a body, they don’t get any sexual pleasure from that. They feel power. It’s all about superiority. It has always been.
Things can’t be changed overnight. It’s going to be a gradual process. But we need to start moving in the right direction. Are we?

Oh wait! Let us politicise everything first!
