Tonight at midnight there's an important fundraising deadline for NYC candidates. If you're an NYC resident, any donations you make could be matched up to 8x thanks to our public campaign financing system. Here are some great local candidates I've been donating to:
In my old neighborhood in North Brooklyn, @SandyforCouncil is a progressive organizer who's running against a machine incumbent, Darma Diaz, who's completely out of touch with the district. https://sandyforcouncil.com/en/  https://twitter.com/2AvSagas/status/1346184811069771777?s=20
In Queens, I've donated to Moumita Ahmed ( @disruptionary), @FSingh_NYC, @AledaGagarin, & @IngridPGomez, all progressive candidates who support defunding the NYPD & reimagining public safety.
In the Bronx, I've donated to @elisacresponyc, who wants to defund the NYPD, end solitary confinement in NYC jails, & establish a "public option" for jobs. She'll be the first openly trans lawmaker elected in New York State. https://www.elisacrespo.com/
In Manhattan, I've donated to @saraklind, who supports cutting the NYPD budget by 25%, eliminating the abusive vice squad, & building more housing on the UWS (her district-to-be) while supporting homeless neighbors. https://www.saralind.nyc/
My current city councilmember, @bradlander, has been one of the most progressive voices on the NYC council for over a decade. He's now running for comptroller, and while I don't fully understand what that job is, I fully support him in his campaign. https://www.landerfornyc.com/
