God's Law is perpetual.

Perpetual definition: never ending, never changing, constant, endless, uninterrupted, incessant, nonstop
everlasting.
God calls some laws a covenant.

Covenant definition: a solemn promise to engage in or refrain from a specific action, a shared commitment, a contract or agreement of shared issues, values or goals, a type of contract or mutual agreement.
Some laws are a Perpetual Covenant

Here's an example of a perpetual covenant:
Exodus 31:16
Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath
to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for
a perpetual covenant.
Some of God's laws are called a statute

Statute definition: a law or decree made by a sovereign, legislative body, or by God. Typically statutes command or prohibit something or declare a policy, enactment, resolution, or regulation.
Here's an example of one of God's perpetual statutes
Leviticus 3:17
It shall be a Perpetual Statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.
What does the phrase "for your generations" mean?
As long as you live and for all your lineage; everyone who comes after you. Remember that God's laws are Perpetual.
What does God mean when he says "throughout all your dwellings"

Dwelling definition: permanent resident, to inhabit for a time to live in a place, location or territory. A place where someone lives, in biblical times either a tent, house, or territory in which one lives.
So according to the definition of dwelling.
The phrase throughout all your dwellings means your permanent or temporary place of residence wherever your location or territory happens to be.
So to summarize the verses we've read, God is saying that
we are to observe and keep the sabbath, and not to eat fat or consume blood, and that goes for the people he gave that law to and all of the people down the line. Their offspring. Their lineage. Perpetually.
Perpetually means forever and nonstop. Throughout your generations and throughout all your dwellings, means you and your children and your children's children forever no matter where you live, be it a house or a tent, be it permanent or temporary, no matter what location.
Not all of God's laws are perpetual. Some of God's laws can only be kept under certain conditions and circumstances. Some of God's laws don't apply to every single person but apply only to certain individuals.
The next time we will explore some of God's laws that can only be observed in the land that God designated.

We'll explore the rules for observing Passover and we'll determine whether is is acceptable to observe the Passover outside the land.
