(PS) Either the House Minority Leader and the president have concocted a coordinated piece of disinformation to try to sell to America to save Trump's collapsing presidency or Trump just confessed to criminal conduct. Those are the two options here. Either way, it is major news.
(PS2) The House Minority Leader is now a witness in the Trial of the Century and should expect to be put under oath under penalty of perjury about his claim. Either he will have to confess that he lied or he will have to say under oath that Trump confessed to a crime.
(PS3) My take? Trump never said this—McCarthy is lying. But I consider this to be major breaking news anyway, because it means McCarthy will have to admit under oath in front of America that he and Trump coordinated this lie to try to keep Trump in office. I look forward to that.

(PS5) This is fantastic. McCarthy has just ensured he's now a federal witness. Which creates a great opportunity for Trump to do what he does in *every* such situation, which is *commit the crime of witness tampering* in the coming days. As ever, Trump will dig his hole deeper.
