There are 5+ years between my oldest and middle. The oldest doesn't wail on his brother, he's tactical about it. He gets under his skin, knowingly riles him up, uses the power differential to his advantage & goads him on until his little brother snaps and comes after him. #thread
When I intervene, the oldest correctly claims he didn't throw the first punch. But he did everything to bring about a predetermined outcome. He knew what would happen & did it anyway. My middle kid still gets in trouble, for sure, but I also punish the oldest.
He knew what he was doing, he intentionally created a volatile situation he knew would blow up, and the ensuing violence is on him as well. I'd be remiss to overlook his role in purposely escalating things & not hold him partially responsible for what happened.
So when morons tell you Donald Trump did nothing to incite violence, every parent of more than 1 kid and everyone who grew up with siblings knows they're 100% full of crap.
