The past week or so, I've had >15 people ask me the same question in my DMs, communities or on Twitter:

"How can you prevent people from sharing the link to your product with others?"
"Aren't you worried about piracy?"

I'm going to share my answer below 👇
The simple fact is... I have no control.

But I trust the honesty of my customers.

Instead of fixating on a ton of "what ifs", I am working hard to create new products, and bring together new content for the next update.
I try my best to get to know who's buying my product and always have an open line for anyone who has any quick questions.

I even have a Twitter list that I add Newsletter OS customers to (if you're not already on this list, please reply to this tweet and let me know)
I continue to find ways to build relationships with my customers and lift them up / shine a spotlight on them (as evidenced in the recent shoutouts in my newsletter 😉)
New creators can sometimes get scared thinking about the worst case scenario "oh no, what if someone shares my product with some friends"

When they actually should be focused on getting more sales of their products.
If you're concerned about an Airtable link / Notion link, remember this:

Many things can be pirated.

Paid newsletters. Ebooks. Courses. Pictures. Videos. Audio.
So, short answer, I try not to think about it.

I'm building my personal moat instead and focusing on improving distribution.

Creators should NOT worry about this issue before hitting a significant amount of sales.
That being said, if I find my stuff online, or circulating anywhere, I will work hard to take it down. I won't hesitate to call people out :)
