I first heard the demo pilot of @instrangewoods in the summer of 2019 + I'm still just as bowled over by the talent of this team now as I was then. spending the past 18 months bringing this show to listeners has been such an enormous honor + the result is something truly special https://twitter.com/instrangewoods/status/1348729035396767744
I'm so unbelievably glad that @btryback, @Jeff_L_E + @mattsavmusic reached out to @atypicalartists in the first place + even more glad that they decided to trust us w their baby! it's very scary to bring other people in on your thing + I'm really grateful I got to be a part of it
also HUGE UPS to @hillarylevi for, through the weird smallness of los angeles, recommending Atypical to them in the first place. having wonderful friends who look out for you is truly the only way to survive in this town
Atypical's involvement in this show would have never in a million years gotten off the ground without @BriggonSnow + @JordanAdika whispering in my ear that we *could* pull it off. that we'd find the bandwidth, the money, the know-how, to make this show everything it could be
speaking of money, enormous thanks to Podfund, who made it possible, and to everyone involved who, with any other company, should have charged a million dollars a minute to work on something this big and this good, and who instead did it for love and scale
@lillymouse26 joined @atypicalartists pretty much the first month we started talking to the trio in earnest and saw the project all the way through. both she and @BriggonSnow did all the nitty-gritty production management stuff while I worked on how to stretch one dollar into ten
literally could not have accomplished anything in 2020 without them. I'm so proud of both of them for the incredible work they're doing now, so so grateful to have been part of their journeys, and very comforted by the fact that I know we'll always find stuff to work on together
you don't need to hear me talk about how incredible each and every one of the actors in this show are, because the proof is in the pudding. but a less visible talent is @ItsEvanChambers who remote engineered the entire production during quarantine + then mastered it all to sound
and can we talk about how @BrandonGrugle and Stephen Jensen created an ENTIRE WORLD that feels so real and complete, all with audio that had been recorded in closets, with none of the actors in the same place, and with the whole extra element of it, you know, BEING A MUSICAL
the last few weeks have been an intense race to the finish and @btryback, @Jeff_L_E, @mattsavmusic, @ItsEvanChambers, and @BriggonSnow have worked tirelessly to get the show finished and into people's ears. go give them a high five please
