I resigned from @CityofColumbia BPAC today. 2020 was the biggest year for bike and pedestrian infrastructure growth ever; we witnessed cities across the country and around the world move rapidly to ensure that the swelling numbers of people biking and walking had new, safe (1/)
access to their streets. Meanwhile Columbia did absolutely nothing. No pedestrian beg buttons removed, zero sidewalk extensions to allow for social distancing, and not a single pop-up bike lane or neighborhood greenway. That was not for lack of support from BPAC, (2/)
but by a total failure of leadership at the council level. I appreciate BPAC, enjoyed working with them, and will absolutely volunteer my time in the future when needed, but I cannot continue to devote time to a committee almost completely ignored by the current council. (3/)
