We should protect them better.
Others may choose to live out their remaining days smelling flowers in the garden and hugging their loved ones.

WHAT WE SHOULD NOT DO is what we are doing:
Forcing those at the least risk, to sacrifice the most.
Forcing healthy young people to endure a year or more in isolation or segregation— something our courts have labelled torture when done to paedophiles, rapists or serial killers.

Forcing families into poverty, stealing years of life from them and their descendants. Poverty kills people.

All for measures that have proven time and again, here and there in thousands of places, with millions of people, to produce ZERO positive impact on slowing the virus.

WE SHOULD SEGREGATE AND SAFEGUARD THE MOST VULNERABLE if they choose to be segregated.
WE SHOULD RAPID TEST almost everyone. Almost everyday.
WE SHOULD ISOLATE THE INFECTED until they are no longer infectious.

WE SHOULD INCREASE OUR ICU CAPACITY. This means training more healthcare pros and opening more surge capacity beds.
WE SHOULD VACCINATE AS MANY AS POSSIBLE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. And we should take reasonable risks (e.g. transporting vaccines, prioritizing 1st doses) to do so.
