A leader in a cell of Boogaloos -- a violent, anti-government movement that recruits from current and former military, intelligence, and law enforcement ranks -- is inciting his fellows to hack, doxx, and threaten to kill me. He cowers behind the Twitter handle @snakeeater36.
This morning, in response to a false story about me promoted by @snakeeater36, one of his fellows tweeted, "Kill him." And the Boogaloo cell leader quickly liked the tweet. Later, his follower said that I should be shot. And the Boogaloo cell leader told him and others my name.
My name is Jon Hutson ( @JonHutson), and I used to work for an anti-genocide group. But the bloodthirsty acolyte didn't necessarily know that until the Boogaloo cell leader told him, promoted a false story about me, and pointed him in my direction. This is incitement to violence.
I do not know the man threatening me. But he says that in 2018, he was serving a term in federal prison on a probation violation. He says he lives in Louisiana and works for a Texas-based oilfield company where he services hydraulic pumps for fracking. He works with explosives.
Once when he was slightly injured on his oil field job, he posted a photo of his left index finger with the ridges of his fingerprint clearly visible.
He appears to support the seditious mob that stormed the Capitol. And he appears to be in a violent frame of mind as he thumbs the pages of a recent Amazon purchase: an Army Field Manual.
A sticker on his hardhat comes from TNT Crane & Rigging, based in San Antonio, Texas. In the background of one selfie is a vehicle owned by Texas-based NexTier, which among other things provides solutions for hydraulic frac pumps.
He has a Planet Fitness membership and likes to display his tattoos. One misogynistic one reads: Kill THOTs.
Why did the Boogaloo cell leader wind up this troll and point him and others in my direction? Because I pointed out, as did others, that a member of the seditionist mob that degraded our Capitol was wearing a hat from @BlckRifleCoffee as he carried zip ties to take hostages?
Or is Boogaloo cell leader @snakeeater36 panicky because I reframed the Boogaloo narrative? Before he unleashed his trolls, I had tweeted that in early January, Boogaloos had scouted Capitol Hill, including the Longworth House Office Building, to orient the seditious mob.
They tweeted Boogaloo stickers with a meme called #Goldcorp, an inside joke -- or Shibboleth -- to organize those with military, intelligence, and law enforcement backgrounds. The sticker shows Special Forces vet Terry Schappert with the slogan "Teamwork makes the dream work."
I had also tweeted that Russia supports the Boogaloo's violent, anti-government movement to promote chaos and White supremacy, while factionalizing society and promoting distrust of the free press, elections, and government.
Will Boogaloo cell leader @SnakeEater36 and his seditious fellows prevail by silencing, threatening, libeling, hacking, or killing me? No. The power of America is in our ideas and hearts, which cannot be overpowered, scared off, or killed. We are bigger, stronger, steadfast.
