There is a folder circulating on 8kun and other far-right platforms currently, it’s titled Civil War Tools. I’m not going to link to the folder. But I am going to do a short thread on it, this may be a glimpse into the future of far-right strategies for inauguration and beyond
The folder is split into two main parts. The first of which contains a lot of basic insurgent tactics. Things like opsec, comms, camouflage, and guerilla maneuvers. This isn’t remarkable, there are hundreds of military manuals available for free online that contain this same info
However, within the main folder there is a second, containing military manuals that are not available to the public. I’m not sure what my legal liability is for looking at these so from now on “my friend” has show me the remaining pictures in this thread
The only way these could have been conceivably obtained by the creator of this folder is through them being leaked by a member of the armed forces or a contractor. For example, the “geospatial intelligence” handbook is marked as classified by government sites
Historically, connections with the military have enabled the most violent moments in fascism. Louis Beam used the military experience of Klan members to create Camp Puller, a “special forces” training site. And much of The Order’s weaponry was obtained through military contacts
But what is the efficacy of these handbooks? Could they actually aid an insurgent or guerilla operation? I would say yes. This handbook is used by Navy SEAL teams, and contains tactical guides to water-based assaults, and underwater demolitions.
Some of the information in these is useless to a force without the logistical support of a true military (i.e. implementing air support and artillery) but it’s a significant game changer in many regards, especially as it is already spreading to platforms more mainstream than 8kun
The tactical knowledge contained in these restricted manuals, combined with the logistical information found in the main folder (w files named “explosives, exotic weapons, booby traps, etc) could, in the right hands, do serious damage
Wannabe insurgent groups in the US are accused of LARPing, for good reason. They lack the tactical knowledge to ever engage in actual operations without getting shredded by a more organized force. This sort of knowledge separates successful revolutions from ones that are crushed
A lot of this would be considered by anyone with slight knowledge on the subject common sense, but a crop of newly radicalized people could use this to wage at least moderately successful campaigns of terror. It’s doubtful they would be successful, but it would be destabilizing
I’ve observed a fair amount of militias, and the one main thing they lack is the most basic stuff in here. Troop movement, field fortifications, etc.
Perhaps most concerning is the fact that the folder contains targets as well. Addresses of federal reserve bankers and government offices.
The only question remaining is how far does the right have to go to organize and radicalize to the extent that it would take to carry out these acts? The information is out there, it just takes a few people to properly disseminate it
It would take nothing but a Louis Beam or a Robert Mathews to turn this into an effective means of waging war on the government, which is these peoples’ dream. In the light of the events on the 6th, everyone should take the time to consider this
Yesterday, this was the top post on 8kun’s /pnd/ board. Most of these online nazis and rural militia members have never taken the time to consider these tactics. But with a new martyr in Ashli Babbit, and a rapidly radicalizing gop, that can change.
I’m attaching this correction Bc I don’t want to be perceived as alarmist. That’s my bad, however I find the intent of these files more concerning than the content https://twitter.com/barrettgay3/status/1348756841963151364
