Overthinking is a cancer.

Cancel Christmas on its ass with these strategies.

// A THREAD //
1. Carve out time blocks

Suppressing your thoughts does not work.

Make time to worry; 5-15 minutes.

Then move on.

It's like a stop-limit order in trading.
2. Practice self-awareness & reflection

→ Meditate
→ Journal
→ Talk to yourself

It's not the problem. It's the way you're thinking about it.

Create peace. Focus better.

Try to look from a different angle.
3. Find ways to relax

→ Yoga
→ Belly breathing @DoctorFlip
→ Biking
→ Reading

More thinking =/= breakthrough
It compounds stress. Doubt. Anxiety.

Take a break; you boost brain awareness.
Deactivate → Reactivate

THAT leads to breakthroughs.
4. Put it to rest

We conjure up all sorts of false scenarios.

Take time to grapple with these.

Expose them for being wrong; then let go.
5. Step out of your own shoes

Imagine your sibling is overthinking.

What advice would you give them?

Apply those insights.
6. Harness what was

Write about past mistakes & failures.
Then read and accept them; they're done.

Don't convert them into demons.

Use them to solve problems going forward.
7. Accept your own limits

You can't overthink yourself into a better situation.

Past or future.

You always act & operate in the present.

This is where your autonomy is.

Think about what's in your control NOW.
8. Build creativity & confidence

Perform something you're good at or love to do.

→ Paint
→ Make beats
→ Workout
→ Woodwork

Get your mind out of the insecurity trap.

Loosen up. Build energy. Fuel self-belief.
9. Don't play the rejection game

Self-rejection will murder your optimism.

Write down:

→ Best things that can happen
→ Actions to get there

Re-direct your energy to your benefit.
We can control our thoughts.

Our thoughts can control us.
