Jeff Scott was not only the house piano player @TheComedyStore he was also my friend. Because I often opened the OR he would introduce me. No matter how many credits I acquired he always brought me up as “she performs regularly here as well as our club in La Jolla California
You can see her writing on all of the roasts as well.” It always made me laugh that he said people could see me writing.
One night he accidentally introduced me as Sally Bowles. As soon as he realized his mistake we both started laughing. He admitted he had been watching Cabaret “all day.” Who watches Cabaret all day? Jeff Scott did.
For an entire year he brought me up to the song Sweet Home Alabama. It set me up so well. I could say “thank you for bringing me up to that racist song. The only thing I don’t like about it is that Alabama gets all the credit. I’m from Georgia. We need something like that.”
I miss you already Jeff. The Comedy Store won’t be the same without you.
