As we’ve said before, Canada’s Recovery Benefits were never intended to encourage Canadians to disregard public health guidelines. We’re making changes so that retroactive to January 3, 2021, all international travellers who need to quarantine upon return will not be eligible.
We will be proposing legislation to make these changes. This means people returning from vacation, visiting loved ones, and attending to real estate matters abroad, will not be eligible to receive support from any of the benefits for the period of their mandatory quarantine.
