This moment stands above all the others in the Marley arc. This episode focuses on Reiner and Eren, who are MASTERFULLY written characters, and it's backed up by Willy's rousing speech which adds to the tense atmosphere. #AOTDeclarationOfWar #SNKDeclarationOfWar
Eren and Reiner's dialogue which is full of empathy and sympathy, is beautifully contrasting by Willy's speech that feeds into the hate & propaganda that the world has been brainwashed by for many years.
This is the moment that the Marley arc has been building towards since episode 1. It's about hate, oppression, the horrors of war and how the people caught in it are thrown into hell. And this leads me to talk about how Eren and Reiner are two sides of the same coin.
Both Eren and Reiner not only faced the cruelty of oppression, but they also had the desire to help others. Even more importantly, they had selfish desires that kept them moving forward into hell.

"I was right... I'm the same as you."
Isayama has managed to construct such a wonderful dynamic with these two characters and Mappa did a great job showing it. I haven't even begun to talk about how they both saw the people on the other side of the ocean as enemies/devils, just to realize that they're normal people.
And whilst all of this is happening, Willy Tybur declares that the people on Paradis are nothing but devils who need to be wiped off the face of the earth and that Eren will bring about the destruction of the world.
Eren's closing lines are some of the most important. "I keep moving forward, until I destroy my enemies." He's throwing himself into hell, hoping that there's something beyond it. Even if it means killing innocents.

"Only the people who keep moving forward can know for sure."
For some, this is quite a drastic shift for Eren, because we know just how righteous his character is. But there has also always been a darker side to him that many ignored.
And this brings us back to the Ocean scene. "If we kill our enemies out there, will we be free?." Eren clearly doesn't know what awaits him beyond this hell and he doesn't know if this will bring him freedom. The people on the other side are the same but they're also his enemies
There is definitely a whole lot more to say, but I did the best I could in the shortest amount of tweets possible. Thank you MAPPA staff for your hard work 🙏
